PR, marketing and social support
Freelancers in the network can now boost their marketing skills with new workshops on PR and social media, and free 1-2-1 consultancy sessions with our new marketing mentors Emma and Jonny.
Promoting yourself as a freelancer is a tricky business. You’d probably rather be doing the thing you got into freelancing for, instead of updating your website or putting yourself out there on social media.
But love it or hate it, marketing is vital for making your work financially viable and sustainable in the long term. And we’re here to help.
The Freelancer Network has teamed up with two local freelancers who are experts in all things PR, marketing, and social media.
Emma and Jonny are here for the next 12 months to help you build your skills and confidence in communicating yourselves and your work.
Meet Emma-Louise Trotter, a social media strategist with over 10 years’ experience helping big brands and startups get to grips with social. Check out her website and Insta.
And meet Jonny Aldridge, a freelance PR person and copywriter whose work has appeared in Forbes and national media. He also writes fiction and is editing a new Tees Valley magazine called Transporter. Jonny is on Substack and Insta.
There are a couple of ways you can get involved.
1. One-to-one consultancy sessions
We’re offering a free one-hour session for you to talk marketing with Emma or Jonny. It’s a chance to get tailored PR or social media advice for you and your business, to use them as a sounding board for your plans, or basically to cry “Argh I don’t know what I’m doing!” and let them reassure you that you’re doing fine.
Sessions can be in-person or online, it’s totally up to you. Date, time and location for your session are arranged between you and Emma/Jonny. There are a limited number of slots each month, first-come first-served, and we can only offer one session per person.
To request your one-to-one session, just email tvcreates@arconline.co.uk
2. Workshops
Upcoming workshops will appear on our events page, with at least one workshop a month, starting as early as May. Keep an eye on the events page and just follow the booking instructions like usual.
Before taking part in a workshop or 121, you’ll need to join the network first. It’s free (and easy!)
We’re really excited to see where this takes you!
